Director of Public Affairs - Major Al Pabon
Major Anibal "Al" Pabon II assumed duties as the Director of Public Affairs on 3 January 2008. In this position he is responsible as a field representative of CAP National Headquarters for all public relations and marketing support to the Region Commander and Headquarters staff as well the oversight, training and management of Public Affairs Officers in 7 Wings and 125 Squadrons. As the senior NCR spokesman he develops marketing and public affairs strategies, plans, and policies for the North Central Region. (NCR). He is responsible for developing and executing communication processes that build understanding of the region's missions, programs and activities as well as support for the Civil Air Patrol and the US Air Force. Most recently Major Pabon was the Deputy Director, Public Affairs with responsibilities for training, program management, mentoring and planning. Major Pabon has also served as the Public Affairs Officer (2001- 2008) and the Recruiting and Retention Officer (2000-2008) of the Minnesota Wing.	Major Pabon's Facebook Page
Major Pabon was the Civil Air Patrol's 2006 National Public Affairs Officer of the Year, 2006 North Central Region Public Affairs Officer of the Year and is a 2-time recipient of the "Major Howell Balsem CAP Public Affairs Exceptional Achievement Award" for website and newsletter development. He has presented at the National PAO Academy. He has completed Level III of the Senior Member Professional Development Program and holds Master-Level ratings in the Public Affairs and Recruiting and Retention Specialties. He is also a certified Mission Information Officer and has worked as an MIO in several high profile missions. His decorations and awards include: Exceptional Service Award National Commander's Commendation Award Commander's Commendation Award (3rd Award) Disaster Relief Ribbon Minnesota Wing Staff Member of the Year - 2002 Coffin Memorial Award for Cadet Program Support - 2001 General E.F.
